Despite the disappointing cancellation of Ironman Lake Tahoe, one member of our party was certainly never disappointed: Fur Face. We loved having a dog with us who could enjoy Tahoe for all of its outdoor splendor. Fur Face (real name Colleen), if left to her own devices, would spend all day fetching: the tennis ball from the lake or the (biggest) stick on the trail. She also loves having an audience to watch her many tricks (she’s a big ham and also loves applause).
We even shot a few photos and videos of Fur Face’s internal conflict: desperately wanting to abide by our command to fetch the ball while fastidiously avoiding water too deep that would force her to swim (border collies generally dislike the water). I’m so sorry to hear about IMLT being cancelled. That sucks so bad 😦 Are any alternatives being offered to the athletes?

Sorry about the cancellation. I can only imagine the angst / relief with the announcement. I had a half marathon cancelled in Pasadena for smoke from a wildfire. I suited up at zero dark thrity, and drove and parked and ran out there to find out it was cancelled. disappointing. hang in there.

I am so sorry about the cancellation. Finding out minutes before must have been nerve-wracking. On a side note, I love the video of Colleen (love her name) not wanting to swim. Kobi has a few fur friends that don’t swim, but Kobi is a total swimmer and a pretty decent one for her build.
