Tonight, Jesse and I are doing something epic: we’re seeing Paul McCartney at the last ever event at Candlestick Park before it gets torn torn. Candlestick also happens to be the venue for the Beatles’ last public concert, in 1966. If his setlist at Outside Lands last year is any indication, it’s going to be an amazing show. I’m taking tomorrow off from work (we’ll be staying up WAY past our bedtime) to recover for the Town’s Half in Oakland on Saturday.
Jesse and I are ambassadors for the inaugural race, and we both plan on taking the race easy. While the mostly flat race is made for a fast time, I’m not 100% convinced I should be striving for a shiny new PR in my brand new shoes and tight IT bands. I’m really excited to run the race, which promises the best sights Oakland has to offer!
On an unrelated note, a personal trainer performed a “Body Age Assessment” on me at the Bay Club as part of my new member package. My chronological age may be 27, but according to her not-so-scientific tests, I’m 22!
That concert will be amazing! That photo of the sunrise is also amazing. Have fun!!
Thanks Angie!
That’s awesome – enjoy the concert!!
Thanks, Jason!
WOW sounds awesome! Enjoy every minute of the concert and best of luck at your race! I’ll be running a half on Saturday as well!
Thank you so much! Which half are you running?
I’m doing the Madison Mini Marathon half in Madison, WI. It’s only an hour an a half from where I live but I’ve never really been in the city so should be interesting!
Enjoy Sir Paul tonight! I’m jealous! Have a great run and will be thinking of ya! Hope you are well =)
Thanks Trish, you as well!
Have an awesome time and good luck this weekend!
Good luck this weekend! Have either of you run any of the Oakland Running Festival races?
Thanks Lily! Neither of us have ran in the Oakland running festival. I’ve heard really great things though. Are you thinking of doing it?
I’ve had my eye on it for over a year and the timing finally seems good for next year. I’m almost ready to pull the trigger!
Have fun at theconcert. That bay bridge always gives me the heeby jeebies when I drive over it. As I age, I am becoming a little more acrophobic. I drive south now to the San Mateo Bridge whenever I am out there. Have not been there in a while but this was my new option suggested by a friend. Beautiful picture though.
Good luck and have fun. I didn’t know it was flat anywhere around San Francisco! The picture is beautiful. It makes me want to get out there!
That sounds like a totally killer weekend! It’s so sad that candlestick park is getting torn down. Rock it at the race!
