Jesse and I are babysitting (er, dogsitting) my parents’ border collie Colleen (who I affectionately call Fur Face). While I absolutely love having her around, taking Fur Face out for a walk before work every morning has compromised my own workouts. However, the guilt trip I would receive if I left to workout without her before leaving her home all day would be insufferable. Colleen can’t run long distances due to an injury in one of her front legs, so yesterday we ran/walked about four miles and made plenty of stops during our excursion to play fetch and dig in the sand.
When Jesse and I get a dog (it’s more of a when than an if at this point), we’ll have to spend some time figuring out doggy duty logistics while ensuring that we both stick to our training schedules.
Gorgeous dog!! Dogs are definitely maintenance but so worth it 🙂
so true!
What a cute dog and what a fun job to have for a bit 🙂
so much fun!
Love the post. What a fur face indeed! I know well the difficult doggie logistics. I guess just choose a breed accordingly…or just wing it like we did with our mutt! 🙂
🙂 mutts are the best
I love dogs and used to have 2, but working out the logistics is not always easy with a busy lifestyle. I know I’ll have a dog/dogs again at some point, just not sure when.
You’re totally right, it’s not easy. What kind of dogs did you have?
A mixed Labrador/German Shepard, and a mixed Pinscher.
