I spent this weekend time in Calistoga with a few family members and a friend. (We were very close to the epicenter of the 6.0-magnitude earthquake early on Sunday morning and definitely felt the room shake violent!) While this weekend wasn’t my most active, I did happen to find a beautiful trail, the Oat Mill Mine Trail, near our hotel. My friend Allison, Colleen, and I hiked for three and four miles on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Can’t say I’ve ever felt a earthquake before – scary! What a beautiful place to hike!
Kind of scary and kind of fun! haha!
Scary stuff! But a beautiful trail! I was out there two years ago—loved it!
Nice!! You were in Calistoga? What for?
I ran the Big Sur Marathon in 2013 and afterwards we had a fantastic trip to Napa, Sonoma and Calistoga! And in a very bizarre twist, I wound up discovering that I actually knew the Mayor. Ha! 🙂
haha! Very bizarre twist. Sounds like a great trip though!
Seriously. Totally small world.
It was fantastic. And running Big Sur was off the charts- check out my recap. EPIC! Can’t wait to go back. 🙂
Great looking trail. Is the dog family or friend?
She’s my parents’ border collie. She’s the best.
Beautiful trail! Ahh I love California.
Awesome! I love hiking. That trail looks lovely!
Thank you! It was!
