Although we didn’t partake in any of the daydrinking activities offered to us in the area (Fort Mason, North Beach, Golden Gate Park, and Dolores Park were all happening places), we spent several hours soaking up the gorgeous warm weather in San Francisco this weekend.
After going to bed very early on Friday (Thursday’s birthday activities left me sleep deprived), Jesse woke up early on Saturday to participate in a time trial plus a group ride in West Marin with Golden Gate Triathlon Club. When he returned home, he had biked nearly 60 miles. Only Jesse would agree to a 10-mile run after such an exertion.
We headed out for a run at the (very crowded) Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach, where beach goers were treated to a true San Francisco beach day.
After continuing birthday festivities Saturday night (unfortunately we didn’t snap a photo – sorry Allison), Jesse and I headed to Paradise Loop for a 25-mile ride. I’m understanding how to work the gears more efficiently, which has helped me both ride faster and feel more confident on the bike.
This week, Jesse is traveling to Dallas and Portland for work. When he returns on Thursday, we’ll be planning to leave for our trip to SoCal. We’re running the Great Race of Agoura Half Marathon on Saturday; we both have a good shot of PRing the trail half race.
After racing and lounging by our hotel pool, we’ll be heading down to San Diego for a couple of days. Jesse’s never been to San Diego, and I know he’ll love the beach culture, triathlon hotbed, and fish taco mecca.
Happy Monday!
Wow what an active weekend! And a 60 miler followed by 10 mile run, yikes! Happy to hear you’re getting better control of the gears which allows you to ride more efficiently (and is probably more fun) ! Keep it up!! 🙂
Thanks!! It was quite a brick workout for Jesse.
If he want’s to run while in Dallas – check out White Rock Lake or Katy Trail.
You’ll love the weather here in San Diego! I finished an amazing run from Carlsbad to Cardiff along the coast! It sounds like the two of you will find plenty of running and biking to do down here! I cannot wait to spend my weekend in SF and run Tennessee Valley- that may be my all time favorite loop! 🙂 Enjoy!
We’re very excited! We love Tennessee Valley, great choice!
Beautiful pictures! Have fun in SD!
