Jesse and I returned to San Francisco last night after a whirlwind of a weekend. We spent a very quick two days in Houston to attend the wedding of one of Jesse’s childhood friends from New York. After nine hours of sleep the entire weekend, hard alcohol when we’re used to a glass or two of wine or beer, and eating few fruits and vegetables, neither Jesse nor I are feeling like ourselves.
The whole (exhausting) experience was worth it. The wedding was beautiful, the live band was fantastic, the food and drinks were tasty, and I’m so glad I was able to meet a family who has been close to Jesse for his entire life.
Texas really is another world; our authentic Texan experience consisted of driving, big (Texas edition) cars, church, and southern hospitality. Although we managed to squeeze in a 5K on Saturday, I think Jesse and I are both looking forward to settling back into training mode in our city by the bay.
Sounds like a lot of fun. I love to travel, but it definitely affects my training.
Likewise. It creates a bump in the road but sure is fun! 🙂
Glad you had fun! If y’all come to Dallas, I’ll let you know the places to run!
Thank you kindly!
